Bill Gates

By Jinho Ko

During my youth, Bill Gates was a hero to me, particularly as a computer enthusiast. However, as I’ve grown older, my respect for him has deepened, and it extends beyond his work in the technology industry to encompass larger reasons.

Bill Gates is renowned for his endeavors to engineer solutions aimed at making a positive global impact. Through his use of engineering insights and substantial resources, he has been able to drive fast and audacious changes across different domains around the world.

Some individuals in the field of engineering express their aspiration to change the world. In my personal opinion, Bill Gates' approach is one that should be followed. While contributing to the world through research, acts of kindness, and small-scale efforts is commendable, I believe that having a powerful influence and applying great engineering insight to make systemic changes from the top-down, upstream, and end-to-end would have a much greater impact on the world. This is precisely what Bill Gates is striving to achieve through his foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Although this may not be feasible at a young age, I believe this should be the ultimate goal to aim for anyone who is genuinely interested in making a positive impact on the world.

I suggest checking out Bill Gates' personal blog, which has inspired me to start my own blog as well. In his blog, he shares his vision for changing the world and provides valuable resources that are relevant and informative.
